Aishwarya Rai Bachchan: Not the right time to celebrate French honour

The actor got the awards ceremony postponed when she heard about the Mumbai blasts

Her pregnancy has caused a lot of speculation for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan – with a certain director’s dropping her from his film adding to the drama. Then there were all those curious eyes from all over the world, hoping to catch a glimpse of her (cleverly concealed) baby bump. Anyway, Ash finally got a breather yesterday in New Delhi. The entire Bachchan khandaan had gone to the Capital to attend a ceremony wherein Aishwarya was to be presented with the Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters award by the French government. That’s when news of the triple blasts in Mumbai reached them. Aishwarya immediately requested the French government to postpone the ceremony, saying this was not the time to celebrate. The organisers did as she asked and Aishwarya got another chance to stay away from probing eyes. The buzz is that since the actor’s condition is still delicate, the Bachchans aren’t too keen on pictures of her with her bump spreading everywhere. Now that the ceremony has been postponed, Ash can relax for a while more. Maybe spend some quality time with her Delhi-based sister-in-law Shweta, get some proper care and even parenting tips!
