After a day filled with back-to-back interviews, Sonam Kapoor is exhausted.
So much so, that she playfully refuses to give the interview. After some
relaxation (and a lot of coaxing), Sonam sits down to talk. That's when
the fun takes over. Aided by an air of familiarity in her voice,
there's a mix
of straightforwardness as well as mischief in her replies.
Though her latest release has raked in the moolah, the lady feels that
she could have done better far better in the film. In a freewheeling
chat with CS, the 25-year-old allows us to peek into her thoughts.
Confidence scare
I'm not at all insecure and I think that's the only thing that's scary
about me. I like to take risks and the only thing I'm insecure about is
the fear of starting to feel that I'm really good at what I'm doing.
The
day I act like I know everything will be the day I'd stop working. On an
everyday basis, I think I have a long way to go not only as an actress
but also as a person.
My inspiration
Apart from my parents, the names that inspire me in my field are Nutan,
Waheeda Rehman, Meryl Streep and Cate Blanchett. What sets them apart
from the rest is the choices they made with unconventional roles
when it came to their films.
Their ethics and hard work did the
trick for them. I hope to do at least five per cent of what they managed
to do -- and are still doing. Jane Fonda, Helen Mirren and Julianne
Moore are the most incredible actresses I've met from Hollywood.
